Faces in the Crowd

Does one ever manage to re-connect with people one really liked and has lost touch with? I really long to see a familiar face in the crowd. There are so many people moving up and down the streets everyday, so many people moving in and out of cities every month. Then how is it that I never meet even a single person out of the scores of people I want to meet?!

Sometimes, I really wish I would meet someone on way to work – old friends, colleagues, acquaintances, old neighbours from old cities, childhood playmates or my prep school teacher. But that never happens. Even if I happen to meet people they'll be here-and-now people, whom I would have met anyway.

Some faces are lost forever.

True, some faces are lost forever..
I changed cities and states, everywhere i went i got scores of friends. it was just like a family. we shared so many things and laughed together.. But the period in that city ended for me and i moved to some other city with a promise that i won't forget those people and will meet them again.. But what happened? I lost even those friends whom i liked most and had thought that i will not loose them atleast..
Life keeps on moving and so many things change.. almost everything changes but one thing remained same in this transition---
and that thing is that-- "I MISS THEM SO VERY MUCH"..
nice blog Rita.. Keep it up!..

Nice post !! But there are times when I wish I really don't meet someone from the past ?!

For the longest time here in the USA, I was told to be aware of some overtly friendly Indians here. Because they will start to propagate business like Amway or Quixstar.

Ugghhh... That is the worst thing ever !

We may not re-connect with the people whom we liked and want to reconnect when we lost touch..but we walk along the streets we may come across somebody who resembles the people who we know earlier, So at that point of time we remember the moments of time that we shared with the person we lost in touch..Those are called sweet memories.

Hrishu,
That is exactly my case too. I've parted with so many people, some of whom I really long to meet again! :)

Vidya,
Aha, that category is also there. And the list rather long there as well. But of course, the emotions are different! ;)

Thenraj,
Yup, sweet memories, they are!

Anwin,
Oh yes, miracles do happen!

Really gud da Rita,
I was podering over this issue for quite some time now. Time seems to have swept a whole buch of my frnd community away from me for a while. But in the mean while, I have managed to meet a few of the most wonderful ppl in my life. I guess it wud better to leave it for time to fix our next 'Rendezvous' with the familiar faces of our lives!
Keep Blogging!

life is like a train journey.

we make friends during our train journey. we talk (these days, there is not much of it, considering how everybody seems to be keen on talkin only to their mobile phones!), we like, we dislike...and yet, when it is our station, we must get off and keep going. we don't insist on waiting to get off at the other person's station, do we?

for me personally, the thrill is in meeting and learning from more & newer people everyday!
